In the 1940's ans 50's Reel to Reel audio tape was the go. Not only for music but also as a form of communication.
Like Email today folk would record messages from the family and send it across the country of across the world.
So popular was this that they even produced special tape postal packs to address to your loved ones. This was a boon to the
overseas forces with tapes going between England, Malta, Germany and Cyprus etc. Later with World migration to
Places like Canada, Australia and South Africa this was again a way to keep in touch.
A Swap method was adopted where after listening to the family in the UK the tape would be recorded over by the Family in say
Canada and sent back.
Today we are often given these little two inch (50mm) reels and larger that contain the precious voices of sometimes
long past on Relatives and Friends.

Not Only the sound of folks voices but music and tunes from the past evoke fond memories of long ago or
perhaps only back to our teenage years.
Vinyl Records in 45, 33 and 78 RPM converted to CD as a conventional 'Wave' file or to the latest 'MP3'.
This also applies to Cassette Audio. There are restrictions to the length of time the CD will run for with
the Wave file, this is about 70-80 minutes. 10 times longer for the MP3.
Most of the time we will be able to split the record into its indvidual tracks for as normal CD track selection process.
Track naming is mostly as Track 1, Track 2 etc. But sometime we can 'Trick Track Names, Track times and Images as well all for no extra charge.
