WELCOME BACK TO MY

NOSTALGIA PAGE

Updated 8th July 2010

Another indulgence for me, as stated there are four fascinations in my life, dancing, Genealogy, fiddling with computers and nostalgia. The back ground for this page came via my favorite sister who gave me a birthday card on which was this picture "boy on a bridge" this is everything I was when a lad, thanks again sis.

I do not remember much of the forties for I was only 2 at the turn of the decade. My memories began I suppose in the mid fifties some memories I did not know I had until I came upon the following wonderful memories. All of this would not of course be possible without this wonderful medium that we now share.

THE INTERNET.

If you love the images on the following page our have created a special collage of 180 photographs from the 1950's & 60's. This is availabel for sale on the Business Site Just Moments in Time go to Orders Page or
via our Ebay Store.

GROWING UP IN THE FIFTIES (LIFE STYLE)

Conkers on string formed a major pastimes, soaking in vineger hardened them, I had many a "sixer" or more.

Hopscotch, mostly a girls game, note the low cost of play during these years. Five stones, cowboys & Indians all cost almost nothing.

Marbles, cheap glass or dads ball bearings played in gutters or on man hole cover grids,

The Pogo stick, perhaps the most dangerous toy of the fifties, another created fad was the Hoola Hoop.
